World Superbike Champion Carl Fogarty entertains the crowds at Towcester Racecourse

Quadruple World Superbike Champion and I’m A Celebrity winner Carl Fogarty recently appeared at Towcester Racecourse.

Nicknamed “Foggy”, the motorcycle rider gave fans a fantastic evening of entertainment with “An Evening with Carl Fogarty”.

The show was originally scheduled for 2020 but had to be postponed three times and a change of venue due to the coronavirus pandemic.

However, it did finally take place last Friday (October 8) and with host Lee Phelps, Fogarty did not disappoint the 250 sold-out spectators.

He said: “It was great to finally get on stage and bring the show to Towcester. I had a great time and hope we can come back, we had a great time.”

Hailing from Blackburn, Lancashire, he is one of the most successful World Superbike riders of all time.

Fogarty holds the second most race wins at 59 and is the son of former motorcycle racer George Fogarty.

Carl Fogarty signs autographs for fans at Towcester Racecourse

Retired from racing since 2000, the rider is renowned for his high-speed cornering style of riding, combined with aggressive competitiveness.

It earned him 59 victories and four World Superbike Championships (1994, 1995, 1998 and 1999) with the Ducati team.

He was named a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 1998 New Year’s Honors for his service to motorcycling.

Fogarty also appeared in the 14th series of I’m a celebrity … Get me out of here! in 2014.

Appearing alongside Edwina Currie, Tincy Stryder, Jimmy Bullard, Gemma Collins and Craig Charles, Fogarty was crowned “King of the Jungle” in Australia.

Kevin Baker, Director of Concept Events & Promotions, said: “It has been a very difficult time due to the coronavirus restrictions and the inability to deliver the shows.

“It’s great to be back and what a show!

“Everyone left with a smile on their face with Carl signing autographs and posing for photos with everyone.

“It was a great success and thank you to everyone who came.”
