Let’s take a trip down memory lane and see what has changed in the two-wheeler industry, and take a look at some of the best motorcycles of the century.
Since the dawn of the new century, motorcycle manufacturers have offered one excellent ride after another. And with each of the two decades that have passed, advancements in engineering and computer science have caused these machines to become increasingly wicked. In addition, many security improvements have also been made. Today we decided to go back in time and list what we think are the greatest motorcycles of the 21st century so far. Let’s go then.
2002 Suzuki V-Strom 1000
It’s an iconic motorcycle from 2002 that changed a lot. Its rugged design made it easy to tread on any surface, while its V-twin engine derived from Suzuki TL1000S and TL1000R motorcycles kept things light but powerful. And who can forget the murderous exuberance he exuded through his appearance?
2006 KTM 990 Adventure
The KTM 950 Adventure had been in production since 1992, but 2006 turned out to be its final year. The model that came out offered WP suspension and dual fuel tanks which made it a favorite of adventure purists. It was also the last KTM motorcycle to be fitted with carburetors instead of fuel injectors.

2008 Aprilia RSV4
When it comes to superbikes, very few conversations are complete without mentioning the first Aprilia RSV4. This is the same bike with which Max Biaggi won nine podiums at World Superbike Racing in 2008. His claim to fame was, of course, his 999.6cc 65 degree V-4 engine.
2001 Bonneville Triumph
Triumph had been making Bonnevilles decades ago, but the 2001 model was a game-changer for the company. Although it bore a striking resemblance to the classics that it pulled off, it received a new 790cc parallel twin engine, which turned out to be the real winner.

2009 BMW S1000RR
Considered at the time to be the best equipped sports bike in the 1000 cc class, this nasty machine was equipped with ABS and dynamic traction control. Plus, it even came with three ride modes (Wet, Sport, and Race). Another first for this bike was that it was the first production motorcycle to offer a quick clutchless shifter as an option.
2009 Harley-Davidson XR1200
This one had limited production from 2009 to 2012, but gained iconic status for its unprecedented sales and a return to the flat track that was adopted by most manufacturers years later. It had an Evolution engine which was tuned to produce 91 hp and also entered front four-piston twin-disc brakes and an aluminum swingarm.
