A serious accident on a busy Merseyside road led two people to hospital this afternoon.
The crash happened around 12:50 p.m. on Monday, October 4 and involved a Mercedes car and a Kawasaki motorcycle on Lord Street in Southport.
Merseyside Police and the North West Ambulance Service both attended the scene with two people rushed to hospital.

The condition of the two people taken to hospital is currently unknown.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police told ECHO: ‘We can confirm that emergency services are in Southport following a serious RTC this afternoon, Monday October 4th.
“At around 12:50 pm, we were called to Lord Street to report a collision between a Mercedes car and a Kawasaki motorcycle. The rider was taken to hospital for assessment of his injuries.
“The driver of the car has stopped at the scene and the two vehicles must be recovered.

A spokesperson for NWAS told ECHO: “We responded to a PSTN involving a car and a motorcycle following a call to 999 at 12:47 pm.
“Two patients were taken to hospital. One of them is a man.”
