Sam Heughan says ‘childhood dream has come true’ as he hops on police motorbike in Edinburgh

Outlander’s Sam Heughan admitted it was “a dream come true” as he hopped on a police motorbike on his latest outing in Edinburgh.

Sam, who plays Jamie Fraser in the hit Starz drama, was on the Gentleman’s Ride in Scotland’s capital.

He looked dashing as he sported a tweed jacket, waistcoat and polka dot bow tie as he hopped on the Police Scotland bike.

Sam Heughan shared a few more snaps from the day.

Gentleman’s Ride helps raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health. The event saw smartly dressed ‘gentlemen’ in Scotland rev up their engines to take part.

Thousands more have also taken part in cities across the UK, also helping official charity partner Movember, which has raised around £4million this year.

Sam, who was filmed riding the police bike, told fans on video: “This is one of my childhood dreams.”

He also wrote in a post: “Thank you Police Scotland for keeping us safe during the Gentleman’s Ride, a great day! (and allowing me to be a big kid).”

Fans loved Sam in his police cruiser, with some suggesting they wouldn’t mind being pulled over by Officer Heughan.

One even added: “I would insist on the handcuffs right now!!!”
