LAHORE, (UrduPoint/Pakistan Point News – August 13, 2022): The Punjab Emergency Services Department (PESD) organized the “Independence Day Motorbike Rally” in conjunction with Atlas Honda from the New Campus Bridge at emergency services headquarters here on Saturday.
The purpose of the rally was to raise awareness of safe motorcycle riding in order to prevent road accidents.
ESDP Director General Dr. Rizwan Naseer led the Independence Day Motorcycle Rally, which started from the New Campus Bridge to Jinnah Underpass, Doctor’s Hospital, Thokar Niaz Flyover Baig and ended up at the emergency services academy. Altas Honda Director General Zafar Iqbal, ESA Security Wing Chief Muhammad Ahsan, Lahore District Emergency Officer Shahid Waheed Qamer, Headquarters and Academy officers, Rescue Scouts and a large number of Altas Honda rescuers and bikers participated in the rally.
As part of the 75th Independence Day Diamond Jubilee, a gracious welcome and cake cutting ceremony was held at the Academy of Emergency Services.
DG ESDP Dr Rizwan Naseer was the chief guest at the ceremony while officers from Rescue Headquarters, Academy, Instructors, Rescue Managers and a large number of Rescue Cadets from all provinces of Pakistan attended the ceremony with zeal and enthusiasm.
On this occasion, Director General of Punjab Emergency Services Department (Rescue 1122) Dr.
Rizwan Naseer congratulated the 75th Independence Day celebrations to Pakistani people and overseas Pakistanis. He said people should celebrate Independence Day, but be careful and always drive their motorbikes with a speed limit below 40 km/h. He expressed that the message of today’s Independence Rally is to educate citizens about safe driving. He reiterated that people should always ride a motorbike with a 40 km/h speed limit. DG Rescue Punjab said today’s 75th Independence Day celebration is very significant as emergency personnel from four provinces are training at the Emergency Services Academy. “It is a matter of great pride and satisfaction for us that the scope of the rescue service is expanded in four provinces. He extended his greetings to the people of other provinces for the establishment of the rescue service, which is the basic right of any citizen to a timely emergency in case of emergency.
Dr. Rizwan Naseer also called on media personnel and all other stakeholders to join Rescue 1122 in reducing road accidents. Let us all commit to making this country safe and resilient, he added.
