In the 1978 film Hooper, actors Burt Reynolds and Jan-Michael Vincent portrayed Hollywood stuntmen working in the film industry. Vehicle crashes, high falls, fight scenes and huge car jumps highlighted the action / comedy and the real work stuntmen do every day in the entertainment industry.

But where do stuntmen come from? In the case of Tom McComas, they come from the streets of Chicago and the world of road racing. “I was fascinated by motorcycles from a young age,” said McComas. “My dad had an old BMW R 60 that I used to unwittingly take out and teach me to drive. Surprisingly, I’ve never crushed that, and I still don’t know how it’s possible… ”
