MV AGUSTA GOES TO ELECTRICITY AND EXTENDS ITS TWO WHEEL CONCEPT
by launching exclusive light electric vehicles, in pure MV Agusta style
Varèse, July 2, 2021 – MV Agusta Motor SpA announces its upcoming entry into the electric mobility market with a range of light electric vehicles bearing its iconic fenders and cogwheel logo. A long-awaited brand extension that takes advantage of MV Agusta’s growing brand equity in the urban mobility segment. With this move, Schiranna’s brand is directly targeting the untapped market of sophisticated and demanding city dwellers for whom getting around town on a sports motorcycle is not the most convenient option. MV Agusta light electric mobility vehicles will fill the void and meet the need for a fast, stylish and environmentally friendly way to travel around the metropolis.
Electric bikes will be launched first, soon followed by scooters. MV Agusta chose the name AMO, Italian for “I love”, for this first series of electric bikes. It stems from the company’s passion for the world of two wheels. There will be two models in the series, the RR and the RC, both featuring a quiet 250W Mahle motor with an assisted speed of up to 25 km / h, a Panasonic 250 Wh battery providing a range of 75 km on a single charge and top quality components Pirelli tires, Magura disc brakes and Gates Carbon Drive belt. At just 15.5 kg, AMO bikes are light and discreet, ideal for urban commuting or leisure trips.
The elegant RR version will be offered in a choice of two liveries, one yellow and black, the other red and black, while the limited edition RC will be offered in the classic red, white and black livery of Reparto Corse.
Newcomers to the MV Agusta family will be designed and manufactured in Italy, following the brand’s tradition of flawless craftsmanship, using the latest technologies and top quality cutting edge materials. Partnerships have been developed with established manufacturers for the scooters, while the e-bikes will be fully assembled in-house. Both product series will be available online at www.mvagusta.com in the e-mobility section as well as through the traditional sales network of MV Agusta. External partners will also be involved to stimulate launch and distribution.
Developing a strong and scalable online platform for the brand’s electric mobility vehicles is an important part of MV Agusta’s strategy for the future of this segment. The plan includes a dedicated online space to learn more about products, an online store, and in general a robust ecosystem where customers can order electronics and purchase or return parts.
