Mom dies on son’s motorbike on tribute ride after his death in motorbike crash

A mom died on a memorial motorcycle ride for her son who also died in the saddle.

Diane Everett lost control of her late son’s Honda while in a squad on Saturday.

The 51-year-old fell into a ditch and crashed into a large underground drain, causing her to fly off the bike.

She was rushed to hospital in critical condition where she died later that day.

Diane’s stepson Joshua Everett and sister Amanda Everett were in the race for Michael Jnr.

The people in front of them in the 80-person convoy motioned for them to slow down before urging them not to go any further.

“As we got closer I could see bike parts and I think we both knew what had happened,” Joshua told the Coloradan.

“All I could think of was, ‘Not yet. I can’t lose two.’

“I think she was fighting at the scene to stay alive but at the same time I don’t think she wanted to come back but instead she felt the spirit of my little brother and chose to be with it. him.”

It was at the beginning of April that Michael Jr died at the age of 23 while riding his motorcycle.

Bikers on his memorial ride had to head to a reservoir he liked to visit and then the place he died, but they never did either.

State Patrol said excessive speeding was suspected to have contributed to Saturday’s crash in Milliken, Colo.

According to Amanda, a horse jumped in front of her mother, causing her to swerve.

Diane was riding one of her deceased son’s motorcycles during the trip.

Michael Jr. was riding his other motorcycle, a Harley-Davidson, at the time of his death.

“Tragically during the ride there was an accident,” Amanda said.

“Diane needed to be with her son and God granted her that wish. While I’m glad they’re together again, we still have to pick up the pieces.

“Words cannot describe what we are going through. Diane has left her husband Mike, daughter Amanda, son Josh as well as grandchildren and a family who will never be close to the same after this.”

The family has set up a GoFundMe consider those who would like to contribute to the expenses of the memorial service.
