Man seriously injured in motorcycle and truck accident

A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a traffic accident involving a truck today in Cannock.

The man, who has not yet been named, was seriously injured after his motorcycle collided with the heavyweight.

The West Midlands ambulance service was called to the A5 Lodge Lane junction shortly before 7:30 p.m. this morning on Friday June 4 following reports of a collision. An ambulance, paramedic and Cosford Midlands Air Ambulance, with a medic on board, attended the scene.

The man was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. The driver of the truck was not injured in the collision.

A spokesperson for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “Crews arrived to find a patient, a male, who was the motorcyclist.

“He suffered a serious injury in the collision, which is not life threatening. After being treated at the scene, the man was transported to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham by land ambulance.

“The driver of the truck, a man, was not injured in the incident.”
