Man in his 40s seriously injured legs in motorcycle accident

A man was taken to hospital with “serious leg injuries” after an accident this morning.

Emergency services were called to Brimstage Road, Wirral, following reports of an accident involving a motorcycle.

The Northwest Ambulance Service confirmed that a man in his 40s sustained serious injuries to his leg in the incident.

A spokesperson told ECHO: “We took a call today at 10:54 am to report a road collision involving a motorcycle.

“We sent a rapid response vehicle, three ambulances and an air ambulance to the scene.”

As a result, the M53 southbound slip road at junction 4 has been closed.

Motorists have been warned of the closure affecting Bebington, Bromborough, Clatterbridge and Neston after the ‘serious’ crash.

According to Inrix movement tracking, the access ramp is now reopened and the accident has been resolved.
