Man dies from electrocution, Khed MSEDCL staff have booked

A case has been registered against unidentified MSEDCL officials in the Khed region for causing the death of a motorcyclist by leaving a live wire unattended near traffic in August 2021

PUNE: A case has been filed against unidentified officials of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) in the Khed region for causing the death of a biker by leaving a live wire unattended near traffic in August 2021.

The deceased has been identified as Vishal Hukum Barma, 20, a resident of Ambethan village of Khed in Pune and from Konch region in Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh.

The man was driving with his friend delivering tea and snacks and was heading to a private company in Khed when they encountered traffic. While taking an alternate route, the man came into contact with an unattended live wire, police said.

Barma’s friend Kedar Patil was seriously injured in the incident, police said.

A complaint was filed by the father of the deceased, 40-year-old Hukum Sattu Barma.

A case under Sections 304 (a) and 338 of the Indian Penal Code was registered at Mhalunge Police Outpost of Chakan Police Station.
