2019 Supersport World Champion Randy Krummenacher will race in the Italian CIV for 2022 alongside his EWC commitments.
The Swiss rider seems to be running out of options to stay in the WorldSBK paddock for a seventh season after a tough few years since winning the title.
Taking on the Italian national championship, Krummenacher will compete with the Keope Motor Team on a Yamaha YZF-R1M in the superbike class, with former MotoGP rider and current Yamaha tester Niccolò Canepa alongside when his MotoE schedule permits.
“I really liked the CIV Superbike project with Yamaha and Keope Motor Team right from the start,” Krummenacher said. “I already knew Team Manager Stefano Morri and I can say that I have complete confidence in him and in Paolo Orsini (Team Director).
“Thanks to Yamaha’s support, I know I will have a solid package and I will do my best to exploit it. To race again in Superbike, in such a high-level championship, really motivates me and I can’t wait to have the first tests. Our expectations are very high for 2022 and I will do my best to meet them. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this project taking shape.
