Without being discouraged in his intentions, Pecco Bagnaia wants to continue to be competitive as he has already proven himself, only lacking the consistency necessary to go further. And with so many unexpected crashes this year, the Italian knows he needs to finish more races but told SPEEDWEEK.COM he is confident of the high level he has shown.
‘It’s really hard to understand. But twice this season I fell just when I thought I could push harder. It wasn’t a lack of focus, I found my focus to be quite normal. But maybe I still have to learn that in certain situations we have to constantly push our bike and not let go. It may sound weird, but it’s the only explanation I have. When I lead a race alone, the problem is less. Controlling the riders behind me is not a problem for me. But when I’m it seems easier to make mistakes like that,’ he admitted, not forgetting that he now reacts differently to crashes:
– I know that I can be ahead in all the races. We show each time that we have the speed. If I crash or if we have any problems, I know we can be fast again in the next race. It gives me peace. In case of errors, crashes or problems, it is very important to understand why something like this happened. I am constantly confronted with these thoughts.
