“I didn’t leave Pramac because something was wrong; I needed to come back to a factory team” – Francesco Guidotti

With the departure of Mike Leitner as Race Manager, KTM decided to hire Francesco Guidotti as Team Manager. As part of the presentation of the colors for 2022, Guidotti spoke to journalists where he was asked about the motivation that led him to leave Pramac to now return to work in a factory structure.

According to him, the decision to leave Pramac and go to KTM was not easy at all. However, going back to work in a MotoGP factory has its characteristics and that’s what ended up weighing in the Italian’s decision.

“It’s hard to explain, because I left something where I made a big contribution in terms of development and growth, so it was a very difficult decision to make.” However, coming back to a factory team is something special. Working at the factory, for a person like me who is passionate about motorcycles and motorsport in general, it’s a whole different atmosphere where you are more involved in technical development and everywhere else. he started by saying.

Nevertheless, Guidotti made it clear that his decision had nothing to do with Pramac:

– I didn’t leave Pramac because something was wrong, but from my personal point of view, it’s a new professional challenge. Of course, the human side is still there [at Pramac] with the guys I left, but from a professional point of view, it’s something very special. Before Pramac, I was always involved in factory teams: Aprilia, KTM. So going back to a factory team was something I kind of missed and it’s the best opportunity I could have.
