Doha: The General Directorate of Traffic (GDT) has confirmed that it will embark on the enforcement of traffic offenses against delivery motorbikes that do not comply with traffic laws and rules from 16 November 2022.
In a statement, GDT said that from November 16, 2022, all motorcycle riders would be considered traffic offenders enacted under Law No. 19 of 2007, when they fail to comply with the motorcycle track conditions and regulations. for the delivery of orders, stating that any person will be considered a violator of article No. 85, if he does not comply with the conditions and regulations of securing the load and does not wear the helmet, in accordance with the fifth paragraph of section 48, including the driver who does not hold the steering wheel with both hands, in accordance with the third paragraph of section 48.
The statement stressed the importance of adherence of all motorcycle riders, who deliver the order, to the correct lane of the road.
In addition, GDT announced a myriad of regulations at a press conference last week regarding the operation of delivery motorcycles as determined by law, and drew attention to several traffic violations that occur. have multiplied over the past few months, calling on relevant companies’ stakeholders to abide by rules and requirements, whether related to the driver, motorcycle or control boxes, and setting the date of 16 November 2022 as deadline to start enforcing infringement measures on motorcycles adhering to these regulations.
