For 2022, Triumph will honor existing XC and XE motorcycles with a host of Euro 5-related updates that would leave maximum horsepower (89 hp @ 7,250 rpm) and torque (81 lb-ft @ 4,500 rpm) unchanged. The new mechanism on this bike also resulted in reduced emissions and a gain of 13 pounds thanks to a revised exhaust system which now offers better heat distribution.

One year after the release of the ultra-exclusive Scrambler 1200 “Bond Edition”, Triumph is adding a new special edition model to its lineup in homage to iconic actor and desert racer Steve McQueen. The new McQueen Edition shares all of the updates, high specs and performance of the off-road-focused XE while adding its own premium color scheme, as well as a long list of unique details. Fully equipped with a selection of high-end Scrambler accessories as standard, the McQueen Edition is officially the Scrambler 1200 with the most specification.

Inspired by the original competition Triumph TR6, the Scrambler 1200 Steve McQueen Edition is developed in partnership with the McQueen family. Chosen to ride in the McQueen movie, the Triumph TR6 used in the jump was created by British Triumph dealer and ISDT gold medal racer Ken Heanes, with an ISDT suspension designed for heavy-duty stunt work.

For even more exclusivity, each bike comes with a unique Certificate of Authenticity showing the bike’s VIN and bearing the signatures of Triumph CEO Nick Bloor, as well as Chad McQueen, son of the legend himself. Each Special Edition Scrambler 1200 motorcycle features a distinctive gold and silver tank graphic. This represents McQueen and his iconic Triumph.

The Special Edition is powered by the same 1.2-liter parallel twin-cylinder engine that is liquid-cooled and produces 88 hp at 7,250 rpm in engine terms. At the same time, the maximum output torque is rated at 81 lb-ft, or just 4,500 rpm, which has been installed in the new versions of the XE and XC models. As for the parts of the cycle and the electronics, they are inherited from their brother, the XE. In addition, the bike uses fully adjustable Showa 45mm inverted forks and Öhlins fully adjustable two-spring rear suspension units with piggyback tanks.

In addition to the industry-leading specs of the standard 1200 XE motorcycle, the edition comes equipped with engine crash bars, which add another layer of ruggedness. Manufactured from stainless steel tubing, they have an electropolished finish and provide additional protection to the clutch and alternator covers. A laser-cut and pressed aluminum radiator protector, with the laser-engraved Triumph branding, also comes standard, providing additional protection against loose stones while optimizing airflow.

The limited edition model also features a premium brown bench seat with stitched ribs and Triumph branding, a laser-cut and pressed aluminum radiator guard, engine crash bars and a MyTriumph connectivity system. The new Scrambler 1200 edition is also pre-activated for the My Triumph accessory connectivity system. This allows the rider to access phone calls, use music, use turn-by-turn navigation, and manage a Go-Pro through intuitive handlebar controls and the TFT interface.
