Tamworth Distilling and Mercantile has created another whiskey for the brave.
The New Hampshire-based distillery, with Quaker City Merchantile of Pennsylvania owner Steven Grasse, has already done beaver castoreum flavored whiskey and maple syrup flavored whiskey taken from trees in a cemetery. On November 14, he will add “The Deerslayer,” a 99 proof venison flavored whiskey, to that list. You can buy the whiskey at Art in the Age in Philadelphia or online at the Art in the Age website: artintheage.com.
“The Deerslayer” is a 3 year old white wheat whiskey that has been distilled with smoky red deer, cranberries, juniper berries, porcini mushrooms and green peppercorns. It sells for $ 65.
Venison-flavored whiskey won’t be Tamworth Distilling’s only unusual creation this year. It will launch Corpse Flower Durian Brandy on December 1.
“The Deerslayer” arrives in the middle of the deer hunting season in Pennsylvania. You can see the Complete calendar of the hunting season for 2020-2021 at this link.
