Corowa-Rutherglen remains uncertain when ruck Tom Goodwin will play his first game in the Ovens and Murray Football League this year. Goodwin missed the Roos’ early wins against Lavington and North Albury after being injured while riding a motorbike. “It was a dirt bike accident, it was Tom who was Tom,” said trainer Peter German. “He might be right for this week (against Albury), but it might be touch and go.” he was eight years old, if we played in the AFL I would say, ‘Tom, ‘this is unacceptable’, but we have to let the guys live a bit. “From my perspective, it helps Kaelan Bradtke and Will Robinson hone their ruck craft and, without Tom, it gives more responsibility to others.” Goodwin hasn’t been able to complete a full pre-season and the German has even suggested the former VFL great might have to play as a reserve on his return. “He played in Darwin (over the summer) so he’s come a little way up there, but he might have to come back and play second, why not?” German offered. “Why should we face someone who is a little underrated?” “Bill Hansen had had a really bad calf injury and we wanted to get him through a game, he did (in reserve against Lavington), and as he proved (against North Albury in the seniors week last) he showed he would be an important player for us. 13 at Albury on Easter Saturday is exciting. “We want people to be excited about football and if our players are not excited about the challenge (against Albury), well, what are we doing in this competition?” asked the German. IN OTHER NEWS: Rebounding defender Joe Hansen finished the North game with ice on his left hamstring, while over-baller Cam Wilson had a right thigh tied, but the German remains confident the pair will face the Tigers, who bounced back against Wodonga.Journalists are working hard to provide local and up-to-date information e news to the community. It was Tom being Tom…he’s been doing this (cycling) since he was eight, if we played the AFL I’d say, ‘Tom, that’s unacceptable’, but we have to let the guys live a little .
