Catalonia will host most of the World Superbike participants on March 25 and 26, two days of testing, where five manufacturer brands and 20 riders will be in action on the Barcelona circuit.
Track action begins at 10:00 a.m. (CET) and finishes at 6:00 p.m. on both days, giving the five manufacturers eight hours of racing to fine-tune their machines.
The Catalunya test will test all five manufacturers simultaneously for the first time since the end of the 2021 season. Thus, Yamaha, Ducati, Kawasaki, BMW and Honda will be on the track. This will be Pata Yamaha’s debut with Brixx WorldSBK, since the team’s launch, with champion Toprak Razgatlioglu on the track alongside teammate Andrea Locatelli.
The Kawasaki Racing Team duo, with Jonathan Rea and Alex Lowes, will also be in action to try to reclaim the title for the brand.
Alvaro Bautista will be back with Michael Rinaldi. BMW will be with two drivers, having been at Misano with only Scott Redding. He will be present, together with Ilya Mikhalchik, for the next two tests, as Michael van der Mark is still unfit.
The HRC team will be on track with rookie Iker Lecuona and Xavi Vierge.
It will be the biggest test of 2022 so far, with 20 of the 24 riders in attendance. There are only a few weeks left before the start of the Superbike World Championship at the Aragon circuit in Spain.
