Updated for 2022 with a lighter frame and hidden cable routing, âif you love crushing fries almost as much as crushing overflights, the Boone is the bike for you,â Trek sums up.
This CX disc brake racer was designed with input from big names in cyclocross including world champion Sven Nys and US national champion Katie Compton. âIt’s designed for pure speed and podium performance on every section of course, in all conditions,â says Trek.

The Boone 6 Disc’s sleek 600 Series OCLV carbon frame features Trek’s terrain smoothing technology. âThe rear IsoSpeed ââreduces the tiring impacts of rough courses and increases compliance, giving you more traction when it counts,â says Trek. There is no more IsoSpeed ââat the front, it is to save weight, specifies the brand.
The Boone’s cross-specific geometry and tube shapes should make it easier to shoulder, so swinging is no problem.
Bontrager Elite IsoZone VR-CF bars are installed. This is an aluminum handlebar with IsoZone pads designed to move vibrations. Bontrager claims its Variable Radius Compact Flare (VR-CF) concept increases wrist clearance for greater comfort in all hand positions with its 93mm reach, 123mm drop, and four-degree flare.
Control Freak is Trek’s name for the cable management system found on this bike. âIt allows any gearshift box and brake combination to be routed through the frame for a clean aesthetic and an easily customizable setup,â says Trek.
The Boone has 38mm tire clearance, so it will easily cover 33mm UCI legal CX racing tires. Bontrager’s CX3 Team Issue 32mm wheels come standard around the brand’s Paradigm Comp 25 TLR Disc wheels.
A 25mm inner rim width and 30mm outer width are designed to provide additional tire support to better accommodate larger volume gravel tires, while the idea of ââthe offset spoke bed is that this reduces the wheel flat for a stiff and stable performance.
The wheels are tubeless ready, but you will need 700x25mm TLR rim strips, 50mm TLR valves and tubeless compatible tires to complete the tubeless system.
He’s a cyclocross racer, so it’s no surprise that there aren’t any fenders or rack mounts.
As for the saddle, the Bontrager P3 Verse Comp saddle with a full cutout for soft tissue pressure relief should take good care of you. An extended rail clamp area also gives you more adjustment options.
In addition to the smoky carbon / lithium gray colourway, the Boone 6 is available in an exceptional radioactive finish to navy blue to teal blue.
Equipped with Shimano’s 1×11 GRX drivetrain, the Boone 6 Disc is priced at £ 3,550.
