NEW APRILIA RSV4, THE UNDISPUTED SUPERBIKE REFERENCE
The story of the Aprilia RSV4 is one of the most fascinating motorcycle stories in the world. Built with the goal of winning on the track and in every comparative test, it has dominated for a decade, earning critical and title approval in every category it has raced in. In his most extreme evolution, he even raced in the MotoGP World Championship.
It is the demonstration of an incredibly far-sighted design in a sector where motorcycles are the result of the best technology available to the manufacturer. The Aprilia RSV4 has been constantly updated and refined over time, consistently remaining the benchmark for sportiness and performance, the best example of what can be achieved by tapping into the valuable experience of a racing department. victorious like that of Aprilia, which in its brief history 54 league titles, including seven obtained in the SBK world championship specifically with the RSV4.
Presented as a world premiere online on APRILIA.COM, today a new RSV4 has been born, deeply revamped, starting with the aesthetics.
The new design is the result of considerable work in terms of applied aerodynamics, confirming Aprilia’s commitment to studying increasingly complex and innovative solutions. The styling, inspired by the ultra modern RS 660, and the wind tunnel modeled shapes allow for an extremely low coefficient of aerodynamic drag, with a significant performance advantage at high speed, also increasing the air pressure in the gearbox. air, which increases downforce.
The winglets are no longer an additional element on the panels, but are integrated into the double-walled fairings, a solution that optimizes stability at high speeds and simultaneously improves engine cooling, diverting hot air flows from the pilot, by more to represent a highly aesthetic feature.
The triple LED headlight unit, fitted with DRL perimeter lights, represents the light signature of Aprilia sports motorcycles and includes the âcornering lightsâ function: the pair of additional lights that illuminate the inside of the bend, increasing visibility in the corners. turns.
The ergonomics are completely new and improved thanks to the new fuel tank and the new saddle which allow the rider to adapt perfectly to the fairings, more space on board and a more natural and relaxed riding position. The electric controls are more functional and intuitive, and the new TFT instrumentation is larger and more complete. Thanks to the new Marelli 11MP ECU and the new six-axis inertial platform, both of which are more powerful, the electronic management has improved with the full throttle control Ride-by-Wire and the operating logic APRC has also been refined. Aprilia’s exclusive suite of electronic controls has also been complemented by the introduction of multi-level engine brake control. There are now six Riding Modes, three for the track (including two customizable) and three for the road (including one customizable): the rider just has to choose the Riding Mode that best interprets his riding needs to automatically obtain the better settings in terms of traction control, Wheelie Control, engine brake, ABS and other managed parameters.
The ultra-thin chassis architecture, heir to a victorious dynasty of 18 world titles and 143 Grand Prix races in the 250 class, has undergone a drastic change with the new swingarm, which is lighter and has a lower brace. reinforced, inspired by that of the Aprilia RS-GP used in MotoGP, designed to reduce masses and increase rear stability under acceleration.
The world’s first series-produced high-performance narrow V4, the most revolutionary and powerful engine ever built by Aprilia, despite Euro 5 homologation, gains more torque and confirms its exceptional maximum power level of 217 hp, thanks to to targeted operations that include the new exhaust system and increased effective engine displacement, previously 1,077 cc and now 1,099 cc.
Two versions are available: RSV4 (only in Dark Losail color scheme) and RSV4 Factory (in both color schemes Aprilia Black and Lava Red). Both versions are powered by the redesigned 1,099cc V4 engine, but are distinguished by standard equipment which, for the factory, includes forged aluminum rims, the semi-active Ãhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension system and Brembo Stylema brake calipers.
