Alexander Smith Joins MIC Dealer Advisory Board

Smith is the newest member of the MIC Dealer Advisory Council

Irvine, Calif. (June 14, 2021) – Alexander Smith, of Malcolm Smith Motorsports in Southern California, is the newest member of the MIC Dealer Advisory Council.

He was raised in the motorcycle industry by his father Malcolm Smith, the famous all-terrain racer and co-star of Any Sunday. Alexander attended Sonoma State University where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in business administration and international economics.

“I was fortunate enough to grow up on horseback and to work with my father, who always aimed to instill the same skills, the same sense of sportsmanship, work ethic, preparation and attitude that l ‘have made him not only famous but also successful in business, “said Alexander. “And now my time is mostly occupied with Malcolm Smith Motorsports in Riverside, Calif., A dealership that houses 15 Powersports OEM franchises.”

Alexander Smith also owns and operates Malcolm Smith Adventures, which provides motorcycle adventures to customers around the world.

On the board, Smith joins DAC Chairman Rick Alcon of the R&S Powersports Group team in New Mexico; Curtis Sloan of Sloan’s Motorcycle ATV; Kim Harrison of Coleman PowerSports; Bob Althoff of Farrow Harley-Davidson and owner of Dealernews; and Kevin Lackey of Freedom Powersports.

“The MIC Dealer Advisory Board continues to play an important role, helping to connect dealers, OEMs, aftermarket companies, the MIC board of directors and riders,” said Erik Pritchard, President and CEO of the Motorcycle Industry Council. “Alexander is another incredible addition to the DAC, and we look forward to continuing to strengthen the powersports industry together.”

The DAC is a group of MIC member dealers representing a cross section of the national dealer population and serving as an effective way to share ideas within the powersports value chain: consumers, dealers and manufacturers / distributors. CAD regularly participates in discussions to help move the industry forward.
