Two men have been jailed for the murder of an 18-year-old who was hit from his motorbike and stabbed to death at Woolwich Common.
Cameron Murfitt was thrown from his bike by a stolen car before being repeatedly stabbed in what the judge described as “unnecessary waste of a young life”.
Mason Bridle, an 18-year-old from Lewisham, has now been sentenced to life imprisonment for a minimum of 16 years.
Mario Gruda, 23, and Eltham, was convicted of the lesser offense of manslaughter and sentenced to 14 years in prison.

The attack, in the Woolwich Common area of south-east London, was carried out in broad daylight on a busy street on the afternoon of March 15 last year.
The killers, both of whom were full-time Class A drug traffickers, left, leaving Mr Murfitt to die from a fatal thigh injury.
Judge Andrew Lees on Friday sentenced Bridle to life imprisonment, with a minimum sentence of 16 years, while Gruda was jailed for 14 years, of which he will serve two-thirds.
“Cameron Murfitt was only 18 when he was killed. His death is an unnecessary waste of a young life,” the judge said.
The victim’s mother, Samantha Murfitt, said she spoke of her “grief” in a victim impact statement read to court.

“All I can say is the moment Cameron’s heart stopped beating mine did too. I also died that day,” she said.
“Cameron was dead, and I was left without a son and his sister was without a brother.”
She added: “All I could ask for was that her killer be brought to justice.
“Of course, Cameron never comes home, but that allows me to wrap up now.”
Met Police said on Sunday March 15, 2020, police were called to Academy Road at the intersection with Shooters Hill in Woolwich with reports of a stabbing.
During the trial, the court learned of how Cameron was knocked off his bicycle by a car driven by Gruda.
When Cameron was run over, Bridle, who was a passenger in the car, got out and stabbed him several times.

The couple then left, leaving Cameron to fight for his life on the streets.
Passers-by came to Cameron’s aid until police and paramedics arrived, but despite their best efforts, he died at the scene.
A post-mortem examination revealed that the cause of death was a stab wound to the thigh.
