A man who crashed a motorcycle on private property while ignoring a lockout condition on his license has been fined by Shepparton Magistrates’ Court.
Fredi Dokl, 49, pleaded guilty to breaching a lockdown condition, the court heard he was riding a motorbike to his home and crashed, which led to him being hospitalized. The bicycle he was riding did not have a locking device.
The court received a character reference from a longtime friend of the defendant, who Magistrate David Faram said saved Dokl from a more severe sentence.
Mr. Faram fined $ 500 and suggested that Dokl “be careful”.

Cameron Ralph, 24, also pleaded guilty to breaching a locking device condition in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court.
The court heard that Ralph was driving in Katamatite on March 30, 2020, when he was pulled over by police. Ralph’s license was suspended, even though the car he was driving was not equipped with a locking device.
Ralph reportedly told police he was driving because his partner couldn’t drive a manual car and they had to go to stores.
Ralph’s attorney Tamsin Khor said the offense was a “stupid mistake,” saying Ralph’s children lost the keys to his partner’s car before the decision was made for Ralph to drive the car. manual.
